Getting to the Gold Coast couldn’t be easier with access via two major International airports as well as effortless road access from Queenslands capital, Brisbane.
The Gold Coast is serviced by two major airports. Gold Coast Airport is conveniently located 30 minutes from the city centre and offers extensive Domestic and International services. Direct flights to and from all Australian capital cities and regional areas, plus the majority of metropolitan centres are readily available. The airport operates from 4:30am each day with an average of more than 350 direct flights per week.
Brisbane Domestic and International airport is less than one hours drive north from the city centre via the M1. Brisbane International Airport is open 24 hours a day and currently has more than 3,000 direct International flights per week to and from major destinations.

The Gold Coast light rail connections the Gold Coast University Hospital and Griffith University to the fast growing commercial, retail and recreational centres of Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. Trams run every 7.5 minutes from 7am to 7pm on weekdays between the 16 stations.

Translink operates a 24 hour public bus service on the Gold Coast, which includes routes from Gold Coast airport along the Gold Coast highway. The Gold Coast tourist bus offers transfers between hotels and the Gold Coast airport as well as return transfers to theme parks.

Airtrain transports passengers to and from the Brisbane Domestic and International airports to four Gold Coast stations: Helensvale, Nerang, Robina and Varsity Lakes. Airtrains run every 15 minutes during peak periods.

GO EXPLORE CARD
The Gold Coast go explore card offers tourists and visitors a simple and flexible option to travel on TransLink buses and trams on the Gold Coast. Available for adults for $15 and children for $7.50, passengers can access one day unlimited travel on all TransLink Gold Coast bus and tram services. This includes the G route 777 with multiple stops between the airport and Broadbeach South station and theme park TX services.
The Gold Coast go explore card is available for purchase by hotels and ticketing desks from Ticketmates. Consumers can buy the Gold Coast go explore card from hotels, select 7-Elevens, a number of retail outlets on the Gold Coast or online.

Broadbeach’s Pacific Fair is one of Australia’s largest retail centres with more than 300 stores, cinemas, and an array of casual dining. Shopping hours are normally 9:00am – 5:30pm on Monday to Friday, with late night trading on Thursday to 9:00pm.
When visiting the beach be sure to follow the instructions of lifeguards and always swim between the red and yellow flags.
