The National Mediation Conference is a bi-annual gathering of Australia's leading mediators and mediating organisations. Our aim is to develop mediation as a recognised profession and expanding the role of mediation and mediators both within Australia and internationally. The objective of the conference is to provide a collegiate environment where issues of practice and theory can be explored and debated.
The National Mediation Conference has become the pre-eminent gathering point for practitioners, academics, theorists, policy makers and students. It provides an opportunity for both the experienced practitioner and the new student to learn and share their skills and knowledge in an exciting and stimulating environment.
The first National Mediation Conference was held in Adelaide in 1992 with the proceeds used to fund the second National Mediation Conference held in Perth in 1994. Each subsequent conference has provided seed money for the following conference so as to allow it to be presented in all parts of Australia.
